Step-by-step guide: Adding the Bible verse widget to your Lock Screen
First, ensure you have the Daily Bible Verse Widget app installed on your iPhone or iPad. If you don't have it yet, you can download it from the App Store. Once installed, follow these easy steps:
Step 1: Long-press your Lock Screen
Wake up your iPhone or iPad, but do not fully unlock it. You need to be on the Lock Screen where you see the time and date. Long-press (tap and hold) anywhere on your Lock Screen.
Step 2: Tap "Customize"
After a moment, your screen will zoom out slightly, and you'll see a "Customize" button at the bottom. Tap the "Customize" button.
Step 3: Tap the widget area
Now you'll see your Lock Screen with various customizable areas. Tap on the box below the time display, labeled "ADD WIDGETS", or the box containing the date. This is where your new Bible verse will appear.
Step 4: Find and add the Daily Bible Verse Widget
A panel will slide up from the bottom of the screen showing available widgets. Scroll down until you find "Daily Bible Verse". Tap on it and select a widget.
Step 5: Arrange and confirm
Once added, the widget will appear in the "ADD WIDGETS" area. You can drag and drop it to reorder if you have multiple widgets. On iOS 26, you can move the widgets directly below the time display or to the bottom of the screen. When you're happy with its placement, tap out of the widget selection panel to close it, then tap "Done" in the top right corner of your screen.
